Shaji Baby John, after graduation in Mechanical Engineering, joined Kings, his family business in 1982. Shaji was nominated to the board of Marine Products Export Development Authority of India and Extreme Focus Group for Promotion of Exports from India. He has won several National awards for his contribution to the Export Industry.
As an entrepreneur, Shaji believes in efficient business transformation as a precondition for social change. He is a member of the expert group set up by UNESCO Institute of Learning (UIL) for promotion of the Global Network of Learning Cities in India. He is also a knowledge partner with UNESCO-UNEVOC for sharing their experiences for the wider benefit of humanity.
Shaji is an active member of several international organisations representing the Indian Diaspora.
Kings Group under his leadership pioneered the aquaculture industry in India. Intensive research and development in association with eminent scientists and institutions proved fruitful and achieved results comparable with the best in the world. Kings is today engaged in several projects across multiple sectors in South India.
Shaji is currently engaged in creating the Gates Ecocity, a unique integrated township project where one can live, work, learn, invest and innovate within a completely sustainable and futuristic ecosystem.
